Jessica Perlman is an LA-based director and editor whose work centers on human connection, identity, and the spaces between people who struggle to reach each other.
Her short film Talk— about a Deaf homeowner and his interpreter navigating a home repair visit where the real breakdown is in communication itself— premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival, screened at ReelAbilities New York Film Festival and several festivals nation wide. She is currently developing Talk as a feature and in late development on Speak Easy, a historical drama short inspired by her father's experience growing up Deaf.
As an editor, she has contributed to I Think You Should Leave, Bojack Horseman, Undone, and Muppets Haunted Mansion, among others.
